Editorial policy and corrections
ESB (EverySeniorBenefits.com) is written and checked by Robert Murray. He runs the site through his company, TilyD Enterprises Ltd.
How we write
- We write in plain language for people 60 and over and for their families.
- Each guide explains what a program is, who can get it, what it pays and how to apply, and links to the agency that runs it.
- We never tell you that you qualify. Only the agency that runs a program can decide that.
Where our facts come from
- We use government sources and the websites of the agencies that run each program. Each guide lists its sources at the bottom.
- Every dollar amount and limit comes from our numbers page, which shows the source and the date we checked it.
- Read more on our sources and method page.
How we keep pages up to date
- We add the new federal amounts each year when they are announced, usually in October and November.
- We check state and local rules every three months.
- When a law or rule changes, we update the pages it affects.
- Each guide shows the date it was last reviewed.
Translations
Pages in languages other than English are translated by computer first, and each one says so at the top. Anyone can suggest better wording with the "Suggest an edit" button. We check each suggestion before the page changes.
Corrections
If you find a mistake, please tell us. We check it against the source. If it is wrong, we correct the page as soon as we confirm it and update its review date.
Independence
We do not sell insurance, we do not take money for referrals, and we never charge to help you apply for benefits. Money never changes what a guide says. See how this site is paid for.
